Mobile Agents’ Itinerary Analysis and Planning in Wireless Ad-hoc Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Networks are highly definite in nature when it comes to their different applications and their pattern of energy consumption is highly discussed research issue. In order to deal with above issues, mobile agents are introduced to the network. These agents are movable codes that roam around the network for data gathering related tasks. The route followed by these agents is called as itinerary whose significance lies in lowering down the overall energy usage so that the overall network life span is increased. This paper deals with various issues and techniques related to the itinerary analysis and planning, and also provides a new mechanism to plan the routes for these mobile agents. We conclude with further open problems and possible directions for future. Keywords— energy efficiency, mobile agent (MA), optimal itinerary, wireless sensor networks (WSNs).
